Meals: Breakfast & Dinner
After breakfast we’ll leave Arusha and travel to Lake Manyara National Park beneath the cliffs of the Manyara Escarpment on the edge of the Rift Valley. Lake Manyara National Park offers a wide variety of ecosystems, incredibly diverse bird life and breathtaking views.
This is a great opportunity to spot herbivores such as hippo, impala, elephant, wildebeest, buffalo, warthog and giraffe. It is also home to the largest concentration of baboons anywhere in the world, thousands of flamingos and, if you’re lucky, you might even spot the famous tree-climbing lions.
Meals: Breakfast, Packed Lunch and Dinner
After breakfast, depart from Manyara and drive to the endless plains of the Serengeti via Ngorongoro crater. You will have one half day and two full days to view the migrations. Serengeti is the oldest and most popular national park with its annual migration for wildebeest, while zebra and Thomson gazelle join the trek for fresh grazing. Some of the animals found in the Serengeti are buffalo, giraffe, eland, topi, kongoni, impala, grant gazelle, lion, cheetah, leopard and jackal.
Meals: Breakfast, Packed Lunch & Dinner
Breakfast at the lodge, followed by the drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
The main feature of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area (NCA) is the crater, a large unbroken, unflooded volcanic caldera. The crater formed when a giant volcano exploded and collapsed on itself some two to three million years ago. It’s 610 m (2,000 ft.) deep and its floor covers 260 km2 (100 square meters). Estimates of the height of the original volcano range from fifteen to nineteen thousand feet (4,500 to 5,800 meters) high. The crater is famous for the big 5 animals (Lion, Elephants, Rhino, Leopard, and Buffalo). Other animals you will see are Zebras, Gazelle, Wildebeest, Impalas, Hippos and different species of birds.
